Garage & basement
Describe the stored items and the part of the space involved. Include access information and identify anything that should stay.
cleanouts
Describe the space you want to clear and the belongings that need to go. A useful outline helps the operator review your request.
Start a requestIndependent providers. Availability varies by location.
Items & spaces
Describe the space first, then the main groups of belongings. A cleanout inquiry can cover a selected area; it does not have to mean emptying everything.
Describe the stored items and the part of the space involved. Include access information and identify anything that should stay.
Explain which room is involved and list the main furniture or household items. Choose Room cleanout as the project size.
For several rooms or a larger property, outline the scope and the main item groups. Choose Property cleanout as the project size.
Plan the removal
A cleanout is easier to describe when the space has a clear scope. You can start with an overview instead of a complete item-by-item inventory.
Name the rooms or parts of the property involved. A garage corner, an entire basement and several rooms are different scopes. Mention if the space is occupied and other belongings will remain.
Outline the main groups: furniture, boxes, shelving, appliances or loose household items. Give a rough count of bulky pieces and mention any item that needs a separate acceptance discussion.
Describe retained furniture, shelving or storage areas so the boundary of the job is clear. Discuss how you will identify the agreed items with the provider before any work begins.
Before you agree
?Clear the garage? can mean many things. A little context helps the provider ask useful follow-up questions and explain the work involved.
List the rooms and approximate volume of belongings. Explain whether this is a partial or full clear-out, and identify the areas that are outside the request.
Mention stairs, elevators, outbuildings, long carrying routes or building access windows. Explain any coordination needed with a property contact, without sharing access codes.
Call out unfamiliar containers, chemicals, construction material or specialist equipment separately. General removal does not establish acceptance of those items or include specialist cleanup.
Example inquiry
Illustrative wording. Use your own item and access details.
I want to clear one side of a garage: around eight boxes, a freestanding shelf, one armchair and a small table. The bicycle, tools and storage bins on the opposite wall should stay. The garage opens onto the driveway. Please confirm the accepted items, scope and collection arrangements.
The description identifies the area, approximate amount, access and belongings that should remain.
Questions, answered
No exact inventory is needed to start an inquiry. Describe the rooms, main item groups and approximate number of bulky pieces. The provider may ask for more detail before confirming the work.
Yes. Explain which side of a room, storage area or item groups you want considered, and what should remain. Confirm the boundaries with the provider before work starts.
Choose Property cleanout as the project size and name the rooms involved. Include a brief description of the belongings in each space, plus any different access arrangements.
List them as separate groups within the cleanout inquiry. Mention any connected appliances and unusually bulky furniture. Acceptance and preparation must be confirmed for the complete list.
The request form does not establish cleaning, demolition, renovation or specialist remediation services. Explain any additional work you have in mind and ask the provider what is available.
Tell the provider before the scope is agreed or work begins. Adding rooms, bulky items or specialist materials may require a new discussion of acceptance, arrangements and price.
