Scope and responsibility
This notice explains how personal information is handled when you browse this website, submit a service inquiry or contact its operator. “Operator” means the person or organisation responsible for running the website and handling messages received through it. References to “you” include visitors and people making an inquiry on behalf of someone else.
The website provides information and a way to make contact. Independent service providers may have their own privacy notices and responsibilities. This notice covers the website and the operator's handling of your inquiry; it does not replace the information provided by a separate provider.
You can raise a privacy question using the contact form and selecting the privacy topic. Current contact channels are also listed in the website's contact section.
Information you provide
The information requested depends on the topic you choose. A general message requires contact details and the substance of your inquiry. A service request also asks for information that helps explain the work you have in mind.
- Contact information: your name, email address and any contact information you choose to include in your message.
- Service information: the area or postal code you provide, the service category, project size and property type.
- Request details: your description of the items or project, an optional approximate quantity and any optional access notes.
- Correspondence: follow-up questions, clarifications and replies associated with your inquiry.
- Submission records: confirmation of the privacy acknowledgement and technical records used to check and process the form.
Provide only information relevant to your request. The form does not ask for a full street address, payment card details, account passwords, access codes or identity documents. Avoid including sensitive personal information or information about other people unless you have an appropriate reason and authority to share it.
Technical information and browser storage
When your browser connects to the website, it sends technical information such as an internet address, requested page and browser-related headers. Hosting and email systems may record technical events needed to deliver the website, diagnose faults and protect their services. The form also uses limited technical records to detect repeated submissions and abusive activity.
The website uses a session cookie for form security and temporary browser storage for selected request choices. The draft contains the area or postal code, service and project size; it does not contain your name, email address, message or access notes. Request choices can also appear in the address of a link leading to the form, so they may be visible in browser history or a link you share.
When you dismiss the cookie notice, local storage remembers the notice version and an expiry timestamp for 180 days. This acknowledgement is separate from your request and contains no contact details. Clearing site storage removes it.
The current website does not include advertising trackers or audience analytics tools. See the Cookie notice for the purpose, lifetime and controls for the storage that is used.
Why information is used
Information is used for purposes connected with your inquiry and the operation of the website, including:
- Receiving, reviewing and responding to a service request or general question.
- Clarifying the items, location, access or other details needed to understand a request.
- Discussing a possible next step and, where appropriate, coordinating an introduction to an independent provider.
- Handling business, privacy and website-support correspondence.
- Protecting the form, preventing duplicate processing, investigating misuse and resolving technical failures.
- Keeping records reasonably needed to explain how an inquiry was handled, resolve a concern or meet an applicable obligation.
The acknowledgement beside the form concerns the handling of your inquiry. It does not subscribe you to unrelated marketing. Information is not made public merely because you submit a message.
Conditions for handling information
Handling information must have an appropriate basis under the rules that apply to the circumstances. Depending on the purpose, this may involve responding to a request you have made, taking steps you have asked for, operating and securing the website, meeting an applicable obligation or obtaining consent where required.
Where a particular use depends on your consent, you may ask to withdraw that consent for future processing. This does not automatically undo processing that has already taken place or prevent information from being retained for another permitted purpose. The operator can explain the basis relevant to a particular record or request.
Storage and retention
Messages and follow-up correspondence may be retained in the operator's mailbox and associated records. The appropriate period depends on the purpose of the inquiry, whether it remains active, the need to resolve a concern and any applicable recordkeeping requirements. There is no single fixed retention period stated here for every type of correspondence.
Information should not be kept longer than needed for its purpose and relevant obligations. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove copies in routine backups or records that must be retained. You can ask about the handling and retention of information associated with a specific inquiry.
The browser draft uses a 30-minute validity window refreshed when choices are saved. Expired values are discarded when the site next checks them. The site also clears the draft on a page reload and after successful submission. Closing the tab normally ends its storage session, subject to browser restoration behaviour. Clearing a draft or resetting the form does not delete a message already delivered.
Security and confidentiality
The form uses validation, session-based security checks and controls against duplicate or abusive submissions. These measures support secure operation but do not eliminate every risk associated with internet services, email or a compromised device.
No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Use a device and email account you trust, and avoid sending unnecessary confidential material. If you believe information has been sent to the wrong recipient or exposed through the website, contact the operator with enough detail to identify the concern without repeating sensitive information unnecessarily.
External services and processing locations
Hosting, email and support services may operate in different places from the person making an inquiry. Where information is processed or transferred outside its place of origin, any protections and requirements that apply to that processing must be considered. This notice does not identify a particular hosting location or promise that all processing occurs in one territory.
Links to external websites are provided for their stated purpose. Following a link, contacting a provider or using another service may place you under that service's own privacy and storage practices. Review the information supplied by the relevant service before sharing additional details.
Your questions and available choices
You can ask the operator about information associated with your inquiry and request an available action. Depending on the circumstances and applicable rules, this may include access to information, correction of inaccurate details, deletion, a restriction on particular processing, an objection to a use or a copy in an available format.
These requests are assessed in context. Some information may need to be retained, a request may affect the ability to respond to an inquiry, and available rights or exceptions may differ. If an action cannot be taken, you can ask for an explanation. Where an external review or complaint route is available, the operator can be asked for information about it.
Use the contact form and explain what you would like addressed. Include the email address used for the original inquiry and a general description of the matter. Proportionate verification may be needed to protect someone else's information; do not send identity documents unless a suitable method and reason have been explained.
Children and information about others
The website is intended for people able to make the relevant inquiry and understand the information they submit. It is not designed to collect information from children acting independently. If a child needs help with a request, an appropriate adult should manage the inquiry.
If you believe a child's information or information about another person has been submitted inappropriately, contact the operator so the circumstances can be reviewed. When acting for another person or organisation, share only details you are authorised to provide.
Updates and related notices
This notice may change when the website's functions or information-handling arrangements change. The date at the top identifies the current published version. Where a change requires an additional explanation, choice or notice, that should be provided through an appropriate channel.
Read this notice with the Terms of use and Cookie notice. Questions about a particular inquiry can be sent through the contact form.
